About the Pilot
Race 'SANDBAR' Steinfort has over 20 years of flight experience and 4000 flight hours spread across 45 different aircraft. Flying since he was 18, Race graduated from the United States Air Force Academy. He started his military career piloting worldwide airlift and airdrop missions in the mighty C-17 Globemaster III. Race safely executed over 780 flight hours of combat operations supporting Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM before heading to Edwards Air Force Base, California to become an Air Force Test Pilot (Class 10B). As a Test Pilot, he expanded capabilities and limits and upgraded avionics and flight control systems on several aircraft, bridging experimental, developmental, and operational flight testing. Further excelling as an Exchange Officer and then Political Military Affairs Strategist, Race not only shaped, but escorted top military and government officials through critical security cooperation engagements bolstering relations between the U.S. and its partners and allies.
With his beautiful bride still serving in the Air Force and two amazing kids, Race and family now call the beautiful Charleston, South Carolina their home. Residing only 20 minutes from Charleston International Airport and available to travel, Race is ready and excited to offer his service-first attitude and mission mindset to share his love of flight with those also excited to see the earth from a whole new perspective.
